The leather vest has got me all inspired to go be a little more bad ass in the world... it's amazing how an article of clothing can change your whole life. The racerback cut in the back looks amazing layered on top of this draped jersey top - the racerbacks mimick eachother perfectly!

The leather leggings in this shipment are really different than anything else we've seen. We really wanted you to see a good close up of the embossing - reminds me of lizard! Such gorgeous texture... really subtle, and really gorgeous!

We always love the mesh knit tops from Helmut... he has done similar things in the past - and we think this execution is one of the best ever. The black and white makes it really easy to pair back to anything - plus it looks really damn good!

We just had to show you the detail on the black leggings too... so amazing!

We've been looking for the perfect collarless black leather jacket... and here it is! Helmut Lang, seriously, I love you man.

This is a really interesting combo materials dress, a nice mix between everyday wear and a bit dressy - could go either way.

This delivery is ALL about the cobalt blue accents...

Leather leggings are a wardrobe necessity - you already know that. But we think the cobalt blue is a nice way to try something a bit different. This lightweight merino wool cardigan in black and sleeveless white silk button up top are both the perfect length for leggings - long!

We think a tailored crepe short is one of those timeless, sexy purchases. We were ecstatic when we saw these ones - Joseph is so known for their excellent pant fits - these shorts definitely live up to our expectations. We paired it back to an elegant navy blue cashmere fine-gauge v-neck.

These crop pants are a very popular cut that Joseph does called the Queen pant - it fits almost everyone - and the cobalt blue is something that we hadn't seen before!

The Man Repeller would not approve of this dress... it's way, way, way too hot.

We love the femininity of this little silk top, especially back to the worlds best shorts.

We can't get enough of Aurelie Bidermann's incredible lace cuff - this are THE piece of jewellery to have. Could you ever imagine what something that was both edgy, delicate, feminine and artistic would look like? Each of those things is a category of jewellery into itself - forget all together!

Listen to this!! Each and every single one is a piece of vintage lace. This individual piece of lace is then dipped in gold or silver as the case may be, and formed. The process is very laborous - and precarious! The bracelet must be handled with care as they cannot be fixed if broken.

Isabel Marant deliveries, every single one, is met with so much anticipation that large events (like Christmas or a birthday) can be very easily overshadowed... luckily we can roll this delivery into Holiday season so we have something to get really excited about!

This gorgeous oversize printed silk blouse from the Isabel Marant mainline pre-collection has been in our minds ever since we wrote the order! I love the combination of different colours in the print - a beautiful design detail. It's harder to see the shorts unfortunately... they are rather great. A paperbag waist, pleated and a bit slouchy. Plus, we don't get a lot of complaints about shorts that are a bit longer - always a nice offering and something that is can definitely be harder to find in the spring/summer.

The mesh sweater - one of the 'key looks' we saw from the spring/summer collections - and Isabel's versions were top notch. This long sleeve black features a baseball shirt seam detail around the arms. We styled it with the SAM scarf, also from this delivery - and a very popular item from Ms. Marant! Every friend or client who has ever bought one has always raved about how much they love it... and we get thousands of calls from girls all over the world trying to get their hands on another one! This delivery we got it in this black, ivory, and emerald green.

The emerald green... yes, we love this colour. It's amazing!! Isabel obviously did too because we saw lots of great pieces in it in the Etoile collection. This shirtdress has a really interesting cut... you can't see in the photo but the belt is inside the dress on the back half, and the dress is gathered into the seam that contains the belt. The front half, it's separate from the dress, and it can be gathered quite a number of different ways as a result. You'll have to play with it in person to get an idea...

ps. how amazing is the silver Aurelie Bidermann cuff with this? OMG I love that cuff.

More mesh knits!! In this lovely ecru colour this time, with a wider and shorter sleeve. Hello emerald scarf?!!? KK - you know who you are - are you reading? - you need this scarf.

Despite the fact that this looks like a dress - IT ISN'T!! Photos never do these clothes justice. It's the bane of my existence. This is a skirt and top, in a cotton gauze material that is hard to describe, but it's light, and lovely. Perfect for warmer weather (just in case you are smart and are jutting off to a place where the sun shines all the time, or waiting for July in Vancouver). You can't see the lovely embroidery all over the front of the top either! I guess you will just have to come down to the store you darling thing.

This is the same print as the top in the first photo - also has been in our memories for many months - also is AMAZING. Very full cut, very swingy, very gorgeous and sexy. We paired it back to the paperbag waist pant (same idea as the shorts). Her pre-collection is all very soft and loose and lovely, as you can tell.

The Dicker boot. Nothing much need be said of these lovely shoes. Everyone wants them. They go with everything. They are easy and comfortable and cool. One tends to not meet a lot of shoes that are all three of those things in one lifetime. One tends to not meet a lot of anything like that in a lifetime come think of it... but I guess when you find it you marry it or buy it, right away. And that's what people do with this boot. I hope your size is available when you call us or that you can find it somewhere, somehow, by the grace of God.

Yes, our model has a killer figure. Nice dress as well actually. Our jaws all dropped a bit when she came out of the fitting room. Very comfy, it's a sort of t-shirt material, in that heathered grey that makes it look like sweat-shirt material.

The owner swears that she will garden all summer in these amazing pants. You know why? Because she is fabulous. Because life is short, and one should dress in lovely things no matter what one is doing. This is the dream anyway. I sometimes fantasize about running errands in floor length gowns. But since we are talking about the pants right now - they are very light, light cotton - there is a lot of things that could be done in these pants - anything involving hot weather I would imagine... suggestions anyone?

You might not know it from the photo, but this is my favourite top from this delivery. Its fluidity, the rounded hemlines, the ease of a top with sleeves... this is one of those things that I see in people's closets and they tell me that they had no idea when they bought it just how much they would end up wearing it...

A beautiful jacket, of course, as they all are. This one is a navy blue pinstripe, a wool and cotton blend, and is just easy, easy, easy. I think this is the thing about Isabel Marant that has made her such a cult designer - the ease of it all. It's true though!! It's always my Isabel pieces that I wear over and over.

Ah, the dress. It's the same material and steel-grey colour from the top 2 photos up. And I love the dress as much as the top. It's the million dollar question: top or dress? Dress or top? Both?!?! Argh.

This dress needs to go to Morocco. Someone needs to take it there. Every time I see it I sorely regret it arrived after the lovely Ms. H went there. Gorgeous and light and versatile! I can see it on top of linen pants around Marrakesh when it's nice to be a bit more covered. Or on top of your bathing suit to and from the pool. Or all by itself like it is here. Ms. Marant must have been thinking about travelling to hot places when she designed this lovely cotton piece in such a gorgeous print.

This jacket I thought required two photos to display it in all it's wonder. It's a wool linen blend speckled tweed sort of fabric, and has a snap and a fasten around the neck, which is how one keeps it closed (also looks fabulous with a belt). HOWEVER, look how gorgeous it looks all drapey and loose! A statement either way I think.

I cannot even tell you how excited we have been for this amazing Varsity jacket to come in! Every bit as hot as we remembered.

Who doesn't love a little stripe action from a Resort collection? Clearly we are all over it. This dress is a cool variation on the classic.

We kinda figure that most of the time the photo just can't do a piece justice. This time we know it for sure. It's not just a pea coat!! This fabric is so soft and light it's almost more of a knit... but it's not a knit. It's a jacket. But it's not really a jacket. This 'thing' needs a category all to itself. A light, soft, jacket with movement that feels like air. With leather elbow patches. A car coat? with elbow patches? Anyone speak Italian? THEY WOULD HAVE A WORD FOR THIS!!

Good shorts are so hard to find I think. We are always looking for good shorts when doing a buy that could even feasibly have shorts in it. These 100% linen ones, paired with the striped cotton shirt from the same delivery, are going to look good on pretty much everyone, we're sure of it.

BOY by Band of Outsiders are rather well known for their blazer, this much we know. So this classic one button fit - WITH LEATHER LAPELS!! - we thought was pretty exciting. We styled it with this mini polka dot sleeveless swingy cotton top from the same delivery and Forte.Forte pants.

This delivery got us SO excited!! It seems as though it is already that time of year. YES it is, Party Season!! We have been literally DYING for this top. The gorgeous draping is one thing, but the statement shoulder is quite another. Nothing can stop the woman wearing this!!

This dove grey coat really speaks for itself. You could be wearing rags underneath (not that a Misch girl ever would) and it wouldn't matter, you would still be the best dressed!!

We have really been looking for other pieces that does the same as your boyfriend blazer but with interest and elegance. Needless to say this jacket does both.

Never say never, because just when you think it's the very last delivery from a certain French designer - SURPRISE!! - one more comes! Thank god, it has the best stuff in it; I was so upset when I thought these hand picked goodies might not come!

This black and blue boucle jacket has wardrobe-staple and closet-favourite written all over it.

I love the leather detail at the back of the collar!

These beaded belts are actually nice enough to be jewellery...

Straight from Italy bearing the Band of Outsiders signature buttons, this navy wool peacoat is fabulous! The quilted lining makes it toasty warm, but what we really love is the tie to show off your waist.

One beautiful knitted top - two colours. We loved it under BOY's school boy blazer for a classic nautical look. Being wool and having an extended short sleeve, it really makes this the perfect winter t-shirt.

This extra long blazer is a fantastic double to a light coat. It is quite formal open with a dress or skinny black pants. Here we scrunched up the sleeves and paired the jacket with a scarf and jeans for a more casual look.

Beautiful colour block scarf with three stunning taupes. This is the only style that is 75% Cashmere and 25% silk making a slight sheen that is very elegant.

The Oslo is a very heavy knit, you might mistake this shawl for a blanket, which means you could probably justify it for home and fashion!

The Mustang Abhaya is very popular for Denis Colomb. The dimensions are quite big, however it is a light knit, giving volume without being overwhelming.

AHHH - as hard as I tried I could not capture the vibrancy of these scarves. They are such bright shots of colour, so much fun! You must see them in real life!

Every delivery we get is exciting, but there is something about an Isabel Marant delivery... maybe it's because she has such devoted fans, maybe it's because we happen to wear a lot of it ourselves... whatever it is... we're happy it's here!!

Anja Rubik donned this sexy little criss-cross number for the runway, styled with over-the-knee boots. We love the idea of this much body-con with so little exposed skin. We also love the idea of how it could go day or night, and since it IS Fashion Week somewhere in the world, we think it would travel pretty well too.

I think that twist-front details like this are incredible! A silk/cotton blend, with a removable self-belt, and *gasp* a SLEEVE!! Besides the fact that I think this print is stunning, this red-wine colour is a dream to play with: back to black? Sure! But the combinations go on and on and on.

Part of her Etoile collection, this particular fabric group has been hugely popular. A beautiful silk print in a lovely short-sleeve rounded-hemline silhouette. And the studded detail around the neck? Amazing.

I think we can all agree that this dress looks amazing... the gathering, the gorgeous sleeves, the rounded hemline... it's stunning. But seriously, between us, this dress is SO easy to wear - so comfortable. I rationally understand that owning two of them might be greedy... but I think in this case it might be more rational than owning only one.

I've always thought wrap skirts were flattering, but this version breaks down barriers all over the place of where you can take it. Out? Work? Weekend? Casual? Polished? Lady? Edgy? Check, check, check, check, check, check, check! Love!

Vanessa Bruno!! 3rd Fall 2011 Delivery

This amazing top was actually on Vanessa Bruno's runway, but worn over a turtleneck, tucked into pants, and under a jacket... it looked great, but we think it's a total standout all on it's own. 100% cotton - absolutely stunning fabric with a slight heathered effect when you get close. What a silhouette!!

Ok, this jacket was from the delivery before, but, well, we think it's hot.

This shirt? Silk front? Wool jersey back? Amazing crochet detail? This is everything we love about Vanessa Bruno right here summed up in one item - completely feminine, interesting design and beautiful execution.

Wool jersey long sleeve day dress? Sure, it's great. But in nude? Thank you!! You can make this very fall/winter fabric take you all the way through to a chilly spring without sacrificing your seasonality. Right now you can make a really beautiful gentle colour palette by pairing back to beige and grey outwear for that whole light-colours-in-winter thing, and then in spring just with a scarf and a vest and it doesn't even matter what the Vancouver weather dishes out!!

Love her shoulder details. This woman is a pattern drafting genius.

We thought this would be the last one - and it almost is - but god, is it ever sweet!! All those amazing tops and sweaters from Mainline that our clients NEED for living in this Fall!! And those leopard print pants from Etoile!!! CRAZY STUPID LOVE!!

It has birds on it (I should take it with me to Portland, they will love it). Maybe Portland love spread all the way to Paris and then back to Vancouver, because obviously both Isabel and the Misch ladies are loving this print, this version is sure to go quickly - probably one of her most popular blouse cuts of the season!

Texture dressing is what it's all about come Fall - and with all the sweaters one wears to keep warm, it's hard not to have SO much fun with it! We love this Merino wool number - definitely perfect for keeping warm in chilly temperatures!

What do you even say about this? It's so amazing I want to eat it - or buy them all - I guess that's what makes more sense.

This fabric is absolutely stunning, trying to decide which cut and which colour from this grouping to get was really hard, but I have to say, now that this top is here, I am really happy that this was what we ordered - it is positively stunning. It's hard to see, but it comes with a really long tie belt that we have tied in the back, but there are probably quite a few variations that will look fabulous - maybe even back to the leather skirt? We should try that tomorrow.

This sweater will NOT last more than a day or two - I am sure of it. It is even softer than I remember, and even though it is, in theory, a basic, it is anything but!

A new delivery from the very talented Vancouver-based jewellery designer Anna de Courcy. It's no secret that her particular brand of re-worked antique (1880-1910) gold and silver pieces strikes the perfect balance between done and undone.

In this latest delivery she is experimenting with a more bohemian feel in some 'gypsy' coin necklaces - in a variety of lengths. She has clustered multiple 'tattooed' antique coins onto each chain, which we love layered back to her big graduated chain: a masterpiece formed from segments of antique hallmarked sterling silver pocketwatch chains fused together - unlike anything you could find made of modern silver!

Anna's use of the antique rosegold heart padlocks and the sterling tassels is breathtaking, but infuriating as no two are alike! We also love them layered back to a few of the modern version of the silver graduated chain pictured here.

Announcing a new line here at Misch is always exciting for us because we put so much thought into every single thing we carry. Maison Olga is a little gem we hope to keep a secret amongst our nearest and dearest - but there is no way this line is going to stay under the radar for too long. You would go crazy if you saw how adorable the two founders of the line are - une femme Francais, e una ragazza Italiana. And we think it's sort of perfect that it took those two to know exactly what we want to wear casually in a Fall/Winter season in Vancouver, Canada. The perfect cable knit, the perfect herringbone - it's incredible. And the price point for Made in Italy? Totally fair!

Hello cable knit, can we have a romantic getaway to Whistler for the weekend please? Nothing screams luxe cozy day gear like an Italian cable knit.

This are the cords that should have been in the R13 post, but weren't. Anyway, we love them back to this slim mohair v-neck sweater. It's all about mohair right now it seems like! Mohair is taking over the world.

Sweater dresses make everyone drool, and we all know it. Big and cozy, and it feels like you should be in your pyjamas, and by some miracle of nature you also look pulled together. With leggings and boots - you are covered for colder weather!

See our Facebook page for the amazing article from this month's US ELLE on lace - I am such a fan of texture dressing for Fall and lace is one of the best ways to do it. This tunic length sheer could go over leggings or under sweaters for pretty drop-dead layered lace effect.

I honestly can't believe a French/Italian company made these - don't you kind of feel like these are from a vintage postcard from somewhere in Canada with all these happy people playing in either A: a pile of orange leaves or B: snow? Whatever, oh my goodness I tried them on today and was giddy. So cute! I guess they would make a nice gift for someone else... but I might be feeling that it's more important for me to feel amazing while playing outdoors right now.

JOSEPH - English Tailoring Applied to a French Aesthetic

We have been so excited for the Joseph Fall collection ever since we wrote the order way back in February. As everyone knows, Joseph is a UK-based company; they started as a boutique in the 70's, expanded into their own ready-to-wear line, and then proceeded to rule our worlds. More recently, they have been taking a page from the French book - the creative director had been previously employed at Colette - and are using the styling talents of some of the French Vogue staff. Not surprising at all when you see this collection! It has a very polished bad-girl sort of thing that makes a lot of sense when you spend a bit of time in Paris. Nothing too try hard or obvious, something a bit messy, but you can tell the thought and quality is all there. And perfectly feminine, but never too proper. I really can't imagine anything more perfect.

The double face cashmere/wool blend coats are something we really love - enough fluidity to feel like a knit, but enough tailoring to feel like you will stay warm. A great material for travelling, and for a busy running around lifestyle.

I think this 70's a-line skirt is positively incredible - it has this dramatic slit up the front that I am loving with tights and these slouchy Sartore high heel boots. Such a strong look for this season!!

Nobody really understands that these are the most amazing pants on earth. They are from the Forte.Forte delivery the week before, but for some reason they are still here. They are the ultimate pant: cool, uncontrived, beautifully made, and damned comfortable. This is how we think the menswear coat looks really cool: back to really laid back pieces that highlight the high/low mix that makes the fashion world truly interesting right now.

The leather leggings - back to what we love: big sweaters! This colour-blocked mohair version is out of this world.

I LOVE CARVEN'S FOOTWEAR!! They are so gorgeous and the quality is beautiful. I love this black suede 40's reference pump - a really lovely high heel, but the built-in platform makes it much easier to walk in.

This is the blue lace dress. THE blue lace dress. I mean, look at it! A dress that's amazing and has style to spare, and has a sleeve?!! We all know how rarely this happens in life. Whatever. Practical concerns aside, it's so beautiful it hurts.

Dear God, no wonder some chick dedicated an entire blog to Carven. I'm in love with every piece too. The perfect winter coat you ask? I couldn't tell you, I collect coats like kids collect bottlecaps, but this one would be a really, really excellent addition to the collection - probably would even be in the top 3 on the rotation chart. The gorgeous fabric, the sharp tailoring, the cute little French styling - this might even take home a coat Oscar at the end of the season.

Is it a blazer or is it a coat? Where some people would get confused by a category breaking garment such as this, I see an opportunity to span stereotypes and break through a force field of old assumptions and generalizations about what you can wear where.

We actually had to have an internal meeting about all the different looks that we could create with this jacket, and we fought long into the night. The winner was simply a default winner as this was the photo that we had. Carven can obviously be styled in a ladylike-with-a-youthful-French-twist such as it is above. The pencil skirt styled with it (also from this delivery) is one of the best fitted longer versions of this iconic look I have seen in all my years working in stores. And the shoes need no introduction. The other two looks on the roundtable discussion panel was leather leggings and a black tunic sweater, or a pair of R13 slouchy jeans and a tonal neutral Inhabit sweater. So many choices, one amazing innocent jacket that had no idea how much debate it had aroused.

This is a really unusual collectors item - here's why: from a cut perspective, this is a long vest with a bolero jacket over top. What that means for the wearer is that there is venting built into the cut: under the arm, and the pocket in the front too. I think this is one of the most unique coats I have ever seen, and would really enjoy this for travelling as well as during Vancouver's amazingly long transitional season.

FORTE.FORTE - the Ultimate Everyday Look

Forte.Forte deliveries are huge highlights of the season for us, so many of our clients are so obsessed with it, and it is that easy-to-wear stuff that everyone really gets to wear over and over and over. Why do these Italians know us so well?

I have to say... 50/50 wool and linen blends are a real soft spot for me... all the texture with a bit of warmth for chillier days: the perfect balance for Vancouver! This oversize one-button menswear coat is unbelievable, and if you would like to purchase it, we will be interviewing you to make sure you are going to love it for ever and ever and ever... sign here, initial here. The trousers we paired with it (wool, linen and cotton blend) are amazing too... that ankle length cuffed menswear tapered silhouette that I think is so important for any Forte.Forte fan, or for anyone exploring the menswear side of their look. We love this 'tabacco' colour, and we also did them in black.

This is a great example of some of Forte.Forte's more fluid side... this crepe blazer with contrast lapel is pretty darn incredible, whether you are dressing it up or down. In this particular case, we are layering it with a silk georgette one pocket dress and beaded belt; depending on footwear, this could very easily be a look for daytime or nighttime. I have to say, the versatility we see out of Forte.Forte makes it a really great bet for most closets.

We have been so excited about this jacket: a very unconventional addition to a Misch buy given how choosy we are about what leather, let alone fur, comes through our doors. This lamb shearling and leather combo jacket we love back to leggings and a tunic just as much as we do with a skirt and a pretty top. Definitely a really amazing statement piece for someone looking for something as timeless as it is showstopping.

This is a bit of a gratuitous shot perhaps... these crepe pants are a repeat silhouette that we really believe in from Mr. Lim. Anna de Courcy wears these pants religiously and always make them look amazing - and she usually dresses them down, god bless her. The gorgeous silk top with attached fringe scarf is actually from the Joseph delivery, but we thought the tuxedo reference could really give James Bond a run for his money.

It's no secret that we are completely in love with cobalt blue accents, and they suit almost everyone's colour palette in Fall/Winter. This merino wool sweater dress is a total knockout for daytime, layered with everything from a nude scarf to a leather bomber jacket.

This wool jacket is pretty fabulous, but without sacrificing any of the advantages of a classic piece. The lapel leads around to a square in the back, and this neck detail scarf zips in and out.

Swing-cut dresses are a weakness of mine this time of year, especially ones that look this good and are this versatile. To work, on the weekend... pairs back to everything you need it to, and really, really comfortable! This is definitely one of those purchases that end up paying for themselves in the end.

This silk and wool jersey combo t-shirt dress we love as an easy layering piece under blazers, cardigans or on it's own with a scarf. There is also a solid black version in a top.

This is a dressier version of the grey from pre-fall, and with a little more splash! A cream silk underlayer with black merino pullover, this 2-part dress could get some excellent mileage for the girl who needs her outfit to take her from day to night.

Leopard print!! Isabel is definitely the one to do a leopard print... she makes it look totally fresh and sexy and French.

The tweed jacket is a timeless Isabel basic, and I love it with just about everything. A zip front closure with a cowl neck, which also looks amazing worn open, as you can see! Finding the perfect cotton pant with attitude can take a whole season, we love this khaki version with the tie belt.

All these prints are so great!! This silk tie front skirt is no exception.

Linen tees are a wardrobe requirement. If you didn't know, now you do.

A very oversize navy wool peacoat, a fabulous Isabel classic for Fall.

Talk about amazing silk prints: the Navajo print cannot be ignored, not just because it was such a strong theme of this collection, but because it's awesome.

Unfortunately it's really hard to get all the detail on this amazing top to show properly in the photo... because this is one of those Isabel tops you'll easily wear for years and years and years and everyone will be all like "wow, where is that from?", but when you bought it you were just like 'oh ya, that's cool'.

So, you know how into the whole leather legging this we are this year... well, this is our suede version. It has amazing leather trim detail, and feels like (*&$@% on.

Everyone knows how great the Helmut Lang leggings are... so we had to do more of them! What we love about this great sleeveless drapey top is the length... very handy with all these slim legged silhouettes out there.

And this cropped sweater with the ribbed arms is positively amazing. It's a coated wool blend - such amazing texture!
