Probably the best excuse to dress up ever, which is of course what I love about it the most!! I live for an excuse to dress up; there are never enough.
If you have just realized that you are SO OVER everything in your closet, call me, I have some incredible show-stopper dresses right now (the red Gary Graham on sale, four different ones from Vena Cava, three Phillip Lim's, and two Alexander Wang's from Resort) that are all begging to go out tonight!

ORGANIC by John Patrick - More Resort 09/10
Today we recieved in the other half of our Organic by John Patrick (I love you) delivery. It was a good day. Photographed above is the (organic) cotton/wool blend grandpa cardigan, the (derived from organic cotton) cupro slip, and the ribbed (organic) cotton/wool blend leggings, paired with the Sartore boots (of course, they go with everything, haven't I told you? they are the best boots available in any store anywhere in the world, trust me!!).
There is more to this delivery, which hopefully we will photograph and add to this post very, very soon...

Inspiration of the Day
It's no secret how obsessed with this Alexander Wang sequin dress I am (from the Resort collection), but look how UNBELIEVABLY HOT it looks with the bomber jacket (from Fall 09- which in some cruel twist of fate is actually still here on sale for 30% off!!). I am moved beyond belief at how incredible this looks together. It's like you arrived at the party on the back of a motorcycle. Bad ass.

ORGANIC by John Patrick Resort 09/10
I really do rather love this man. I have said this before, but I really admire his commitment to ethical manufacturing. And without compromising design aesthetic at all. Its a win-win situation.
This delivery is only half-here, the other half is coming next week (i hope). So far in we have these rather amazing organic cotton scarves in a soft blue and off white.
Under.Ligne (by Doo-Ri) Resort 09/10 Delivery!
We have yet to shoot any pictures, but it's a fabulous little delivery!
1. Cotton stretch twill leggings in a grey/black colour w a zipper details... which are incredible.
2. A silk scoop neck shirt with a rounded hem and a baggy sleeve that is sort of gathered up... (worst description ever) but it is really slouchy and cool and perfect and would look good with leggings and (thigh-high?) boots or jeans and whatever shoes.
3. A silk/ jersey combo sleeveless dress with a flower applique on the front (which no description of will do justice to). Jersey on the top half, and a silk panel along the hemline. I love this sort of thing because I think it's both comfortable and cool, and could be easily dressed up or down. I love taking a peice like this and wearing it instead of like, sweatpants (when sweatpants is all you really want to wear because it has been raining for like 25 days straight and you will do just about anything to see the sun but you can't really afford to take a nice vacation because you spent all your money on two pairs of Sartore boots). It is, in the writer's humble opinion, totally worth all the effort getting dolled up every day for the sake of proving Vancouver is a fabulous city full of fabulous women, because it is!! Anyway, I think it is all so much easier in dresses like this little number. My whole closet is full of easy little dresses that go anywhere; I spend most of my "getting ready" time in the morning doing absolutely nothing, and then (usually) about 3 minutes throwing something on. God knows why I'm late for everything.
4. A white jersey tank w jersey 'ropes' draping across the front. Reminiscent of something Greek statue-esque.

HANII Y RESORT 09/10
The tank is actually Alexander Wang, but we think it looks hot with this skirt from the latest Hanii Y delivery: RESORT!!
I love the idea that somewhere in the world it is warm and sunny, and all you have to do is get on a plane and you can A: feel warm, and B: wear these pretty clothes.
Anyway, this skirt features classic Hanii Y styling: a cool foldover detail sewn right into the design. I think it's so interesting, and feminine!
I am obsessed with short jackets (among other things), so quite obviously, I am obsessed with this. It features a pretty open neckline, it is 100% cotton, and looks just as good open as it does shut!
A grey tank, black shorts: definitely both considered basics. However, when they fit like a million dollars, and are really interesting, they become the kind of basics that you don't mind wearing every single day. The shorts are a heavy linen blend (and are soooo flattering), and the draping, neckline, and little fold detail in the front make this jersey top anything but regular.
A cotton shirtdress with pockets. Can you say "live in it"?

Alexander Wang RTW Resort 09/10 Delivery!!
Agh. This is the hottest, most painfully incredibly hottest bomber jacket I have ever met. The sleeves zip off so you can just wear it like a suede vest. AND, it's so hourglass you will look like you just spent three weeks at a become-Salma-Hayek training school.
This incredible jersey number is actually a one-shoulder cut, but we didn't realize that until much later. Funnily enough though, because it looks amazing like this too!!
Yes, sequins are what it's all about right now. This dress is unbelievable! His assymetrical goddess-cut, but in eye-popping navy sequins.
The croc print tank dress... I love this peice! But of course I do... it's dress-up/ dress-down, pretty and a bit bad-ass... basically it can take you anywhere!
This dress is one of those hot-in-the-front, really-hot-in-the-back numbers... the back is just mesh straps, and nothing else. Like I said, HOT.
Mmmm.... handbags. If there are any boys reading this (ha ha, ya right), then take note: if you don't know exactly what size she wears and you don't want to get in trouble, buy the lady accessories! This style pictured above is the Betty Flap bag. He made it for the resort collection only as far as I can gather. And it rules.
The Tina Zip Clutch, pictured here in grey leather (we also have it in navy suede) has a removable strap, and is the bag I just bought, so ya, I'm pretty in love with it.
Ah, the Diego Bag. I hear constant rumours of the waiting lists and girl-fights in the US, so it's a bit of a mystery as to why we have any available.

SARTORE!!! Better Boots Just Don't Exist.
Look at the pure simple beauty of this incredible construction. Quality is the most attractive feature to me, in anything.
The shading in this leather is worth, um, my firstborn.
The braiding detail on the back of these is so spectacular.
This classic boot is the ultimate (super well made) blank canvas black boot: this could literally be worn with absolutely anything!!
I love this detail on the back of the calf... it's so simple yet so interesting.
T by Alexander Wang!! Resort 09/10 Delivery!!!!!!
omg omg omg omg why i am so excited for t-shirts?!?!?!!? I don't know, it barely makes sense, but I am, okay?!!!?!?!?!?
They are selling out too quickly to post pictures, and I probably shouldn't hold any expensive electronic equipment in this state anyway. Here's the deal: STRIPED LINEN KNITS (i drool for stripes and linen knits, did you know this about me already?). Cowl neck racer back tops and a mini dress that look super hot. And other stuff. But the Sartore boots just got here and I need to stop typing NOW!

WANG. So hot right now.
I can't believe we still have this dress. It is the most incredibly super hot dress ever! I'm obsessed with it.
Not that Blake Lively ever looks bad in anything, but omg, check her out in it on last week's GG episode...

3.1 Phillip Lim Holiday 2009
A stunning delivery from 3.1 Phillip Lim for Holiday!
This sequin mini dress with cut-out back detail is such a showstopper! There are only two of these in store! (UPDATE: it's sold out everywhere, like all over the world)
This cotton/silk blend dress is so adorable!! I love the sequin back and one shoulder detail he is doing all over this delivery!!
Ribbed a-line skirt (with pockets, god bless), paired here with this awesome one-shoulder detail, nude silk base, and a mustard coloured jersey topping shirt. I love Phillip for these easy to wear, but still really beautifully designed pieces like this!!
The layered mini skirt here is so awesome!! I wish the photo showed it better! The cashmere sweater we photographed it with is also a great classic, yet interesting, Phillip piece!

Joseph! AMAZING 2nd Delivery! Fall 09
This is an absolutely stunning coat. 70% wool, 30% cashmere double face. As you can see, it looks just as amazing open as closed!
This photo (above) does absolutely no justice at all to this amazing skirt. The little double breasted jacket is the same double face fabric as the coat (aka. its amazing too).
This cashmere turtleneck is so thick and delicious, and long in the body which is so nice. I have been obsessed with these jodhpurs since we placed this order 6 months ago. They are cotton/lycra twill with a suede patch at the knee. And stunning.
100% merino wool, this sweater dress is really elegant and unique. Check out this detail on the sleeve (I love thumb holes!).
