I have an issue with the sizes of the Vanessa Bruno dress (gorgeous!). Being originally from France, I always thought that my size 38 was in fact a size 6 (M) which means that a 42 is a size 10 (L) and 36 is in fact a US size 4 (S). Am I wrong?

It's a great question you bring up - I find the literal size conversions a bit arbitrary - and that every designer grades a little bit differently... and ON TOP OF THAT there is not a lot of size consistency within brands. For me, I prefer to see an item on a few people and make my own conversions based on the particular item. American sizing is a bit generous more and more also... adding difficulty to size conversion charts. Feel free to email us anytime you need to know how a particular item is running to size. Especially with orders done over the phone or by email we like to work closely with clients to make sure they buy the right size because the world of womenswear sizing is quite complicated!
